Fortuna Dresden FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Adé Hinz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gönnjamin FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adé Hinz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamin Franke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 14th minute Heini Plath shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Franke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 minutes of play, Fortuna Dresden FC's Balan Gonzáles made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hernan Boskamp was left in no man's land by his defense there! 22 minutes into the match, Fortuna Dresden FC's Tomáš Bacho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hernan Boskamp narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gönnjamin FC's Hernan Boskamp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faudel Houllier in the 25th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Heini Plath ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benjamin Franke was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 34th minute Balan Gonzáles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernan Boskamp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Faudel Houllier left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fortuna Dresden FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Perry Hertel hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Gönnjamin FC's Sébastien Zach got a free kick in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Heini Plath stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gönnjamin FC's goalkeeper Hernan Boskamp, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Faudel Houllier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernan Boskamp having to interfere. Balan Gonzáles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adé Hinz's late challenge caught a Fortuna Dresden FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adé Hinz helped the player get up and apologised. Adé Hinz hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Fortuna Dresden FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
