Abdelaziz Bendel started the match with the kick off. When Cosimo Hötte came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Górnik Zabrze fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cosimo Hötte couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Cosimo Hötte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Górnik Zabrze's supporters rose to their feet, but Cosimo Hötte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Franco Stinner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gatis Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdelaziz Bendel in the 14th minute of the match. With his leg Franco Stinner managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Górnik Zabrze's Marcus Rashford fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Cosimo Hötte hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maximilian List during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Rashford got free with Franco Stinner in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 35 minutes, Marcus Rashford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Górnik Zabrze's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcus Rashford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Marcus Rashford put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Franco Stinner. Marcus Rashford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Franco Stinner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carsten Rendelmann hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cosimo Hötte to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51stth minute of the game Cosimo Hötte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kosbach's Franco Stinner was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Kosbach getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Maximilian List hit a great ball. Marcus Rashford scored 3-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franco Stinner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcus Rashford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd minute, Ansgar von Scheliha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Marcus Rashford came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Górnik Zabrze fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Rashford couldn't finish the play. Marcus Rashford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcus Rashford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Marcus Rashford came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Górnik Zabrze fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Rashford couldn't finish the play. Franco Stinner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosimo Hötte in the 73rd minute of play. Cosimo Hötte took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Franco Stinner. Franco Stinner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 90 minutes into the match, Kosbach's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Rashford came free, but Franco Stinner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cosimo Hötte struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Franco Stinner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Górnik Zabrze. Górnik Zabrze's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
