After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Frido Lausberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Górnik Zabrze's supporters rose to their feet, but Frido Lausberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamin Uhl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 18 minutes into the game, Bornheim FC's Dennis Tauer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcus Rashford came out of the goal and Wendelin Habel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Bornheim FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wendelin Habel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cosimo Hötte kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. A collision led to Górnik Zabrze getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Matthias Anheuser hit a great ball. When Wendelin Habel came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Bornheim FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wendelin Habel couldn't finish the play. Marcus Rashford made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wendelin Habel in the 65th minute. In the 68th match minute, Górnik Zabrze was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cosimo Hötte to maneuver through the defense. The Górnik Zabrze supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bornheim FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Bornheim FC.
