The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Sol Diebold managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fc Windorf's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sol Diebold was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sol Diebold charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sol Diebold the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th minute, Sol Diebold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the game, Javier Setzer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fc Windorf's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bornheim FC the free kick. After 10 played minutes Fc Windorf got a freekick which was hit by Javier Setzer. Fc Windorf's attentive Erik Dahl managed to snatch the ball when Wolfgang Bender made a throw-in in the 13th minute of the game. 21 minutes into the game, Bornheim FC's Wendelin Habel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Steffen Czerwinski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 32nd match minute, Fc Windorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Dahl to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, Niklas Beyersdorf dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benjamin Uhl, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Wendelin Habel made the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute, Niklas Beyersdorf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute Niklas Beyersdorf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Uhl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute, Wolfgang Bender hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Niklas Beyersdorf came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Fc Windorf fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niklas Beyersdorf couldn't finish the play. Tibor Paulus charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tibor Paulus the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 76th minute of the match Javier Setzer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benjamin Uhl skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Fc Windorf getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Niklas Beyersdorf hit a great ball. Wolfgang Bender's late challenge caught a Fc Windorf's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wolfgang Bender helped the player get up and apologised. After 88 played minutes Bornheim FC got a freekick which was hit by Wolfgang Bender. 94 minutes into the match, Sol Diebold notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Bornheim FC's Benjamin Uhl. Benjamin Uhl was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Fc Windorf players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
