Hansel Golz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lennert Göttling. If Jo Körper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Béla Deck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Petrolul's Béla Deck got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anthony Töller was the one to do the kick off. Hansel Golz went to the wrong direction when Lennert Göttling was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 84th minute, Christoph Rampe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Béla Deck in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hansjürgen Kumpf prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hansjürgen Kumpf stood somewhat misplaced when Roland Wehn came free in front of goal and shot 1-4 to the left of him in the 89 minute. Siebenbergen's Hansjürgen Kumpf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Wehn in the 96th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Siebenbergen's Albert Kurtz got a free kick in the 96th minute. When Linus Mattern came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Petrolul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Linus Mattern couldn't finish the play. Petrolul's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
