Olav Fonken charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olav Fonken the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, 1.Fc Theostadt's Olav Fonken got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 15th minute, Jaden Hampl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Petrolul booed when 1.Fc Theostadt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ole Weis didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Linus Mattern had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, 1.Fc Theostadt's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Wehn came free, but Sven Stöhr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 27th minute of the game was made by Dennis Scholz with Ole Weis as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 28 minutes into the match, 1.Fc Theostadt's goalkeeper Sven Stöhr had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jo Körper. Hansel Golz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olav Fonken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lutger Bachmeier hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. 1.Fc Theostadt's Sven Stöhr proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save 1.Fc Theostadt from getting a goal against them. In the 45th match minute, 1.Fc Theostadt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Browald to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Béla Deck made a kick off. Petrolul's Hansel Golz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Petrolul from getting a goal against them. In the 62nd minute Béla Deck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Stöhr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sven Stöhr came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Petrolul's Béla Deck. But to his dismay, Béla Deck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mario Overkamp during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, 1.Fc Theostadt's Mario Overkamp got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 78th minute, Daniel Kirchberger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the game, Dennis Scholz threw the ball into play from the sideline. Petrolul's Christoph Rampe quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 89th minute, 1.Fc Theostadt's Olav Fonken dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olav Fonken got free with Hansel Golz in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Béla Deck in the 94th minute of play forced 1.Fc Theostadt's goalkeeper Sven Stöhr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petrolul were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing 1.Fc Theostadt to leave the ground with a draw.
