Josef Griese was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Anestis Kotsopoulos came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Rot-Weiss-Essen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anestis Kotsopoulos couldn't finish the play. Josef Griese took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavian Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Eltze's Josef Griese got control of the ball when Hugo Haupt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Eltze's goalkeeper Josef Griese had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Haupt. Eltze's Josef Griese proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Eltze from getting a goal against them. Josef Griese was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Kryspin Banach capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kryspin Banach really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 8-0.

56 minutes into the match, Hugo Haupt notched a goal, 10-0, to the right of Eltze's Josef Griese. Josef Griese was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Anestis Kotsopoulos took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Josef Griese. Josef Griese dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 11-0. Josef Griese came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Rot-Weiss-Essen's Octavian Basten. But to his dismay, Octavian Basten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 12-0. 66 minutes into the match, Anestis Kotsopoulos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Josef Griese. Eltze's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anestis Kotsopoulos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 13-0. 69 minutes into the match, Eltze's goal looked a bit too open when Mesut Özil came free, but Josef Griese reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Rot-Weiss-Essen's Octavian Basten looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 15-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 95th minute Maximilian Henning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josef Griese saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, one of Eltze:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Eltze. The referee gave Rot-Weiss-Essen a penalty, 99 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Maximilian Henning, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Eltze's Josef Griese. 20-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Rot-Weiss-Essen fully deserved thier win.
