The Welterod fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rainer Fesseler should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Welterod getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Tim Eisele hit a great ball. When the match was over Rot-Weiss-Essen could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Welterod throughout the match.
