Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Franz Pape kicked off to start the match. When the match clock showed 2 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Anestis Kotsopoulos sped through Langereihe FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Klaus Fydrich. In the 8th minute of the match Rot-Weiss-Essen got a corner. Langereihe FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Maximilian Henning ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavian Basten in the 11th minute of play forced Langereihe FC's goalkeeper Klaus Fydrich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maximilian Henning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Langereihe FC's Franz Pape got a free kick in the 15th minute. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Octavian Basten got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Octavian Basten in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Klaus Fydrich prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hugo Haupt took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Klaus Fydrich. Klaus Fydrich dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Octavian Basten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rot-Weiss-Essen's supporters rose to their feet, but Octavian Basten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Klaus Fydrich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 24th play minutes Octavian Basten shot 0-5, a short shot which went by Klaus Fydrich and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavian Basten in the 26th minute of play forced Langereihe FC's goalkeeper Klaus Fydrich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Octavian Basten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Klaus Fydrich. Langereihe FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Octavian Basten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. 37 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Andi Haase came free, but August Hoffmanns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Octavian Basten made a precise shot to the right of Klaus Fydrich. Langereihe FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Klaus Fydrich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mesut Özil in the 42nd minute of play. After 43 minutes, Johannes Kugler-Wendt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Langereihe FC and the Rot-Weiss-Essen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Johannes Kugler-Wendt kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-8 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Octavian Basten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mesut Özil in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Klaus Fydrich saved Langereihe FC from getting behind. Langereihe FC's Klaus Fydrich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 54th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 55th minute by Octavian Basten got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavian Basten in the 56th minute of play forced Langereihe FC's goalkeeper Klaus Fydrich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anestis Kotsopoulos was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 57 minutes into the match, Octavian Basten dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Klaus Fydrich, 0-9. An unexpected shot in the 63rd minute by Hugo Haupt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 63rd minute, Octavian Basten reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Klaus Fydrich. The goal made the score 0-10. Klaus Fydrich came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Rot-Weiss-Essen's Octavian Basten. But to his dismay, Octavian Basten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-11. Johannes Kugler-Wendt hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Klaus Fydrich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavian Basten in the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute Rot-Weiss-Essen were awarded a corner. Maximilian Henning went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Maximilian Henning almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Langereihe FC's Klaus Fydrich did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franz Pape in the 78th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Octavian Basten's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 81stth minute, Klaus Fydrich skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Anestis Kotsopoulos might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Klaus Fydrich. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anestis Kotsopoulos ran back to his position shaking his head. Klaus Fydrich acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 85th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ingmar Stempfle. Klaus Fydrich didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 89th minute, which inside left pole to 0-12. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Octavian Basten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rot-Weiss-Essen's supporters rose to their feet, but Octavian Basten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Klaus Fydrich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kryspin Banach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Langereihe FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rot-Weiss-Essen were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
