Spectators: 7619 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1844, VIP seats: 150) After 11th play minutes Uwe Mehring shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Sebastian Mann and just under the crossbar into goal. After a rather tough play, Welterod's Ralf Hormes got a free kick in the 14th minute. Rainer Fesseler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gunther Placke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the game, Lothar Jung was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SV Rittsteig's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Welterod the free kick. After 26 played minutes SV Rittsteig got a freekick which was hit by Lothar Jung. Uwe Mehring received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sebastian Mann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SV Rittsteig's Sebastian Mann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uwe Mehring in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Welterod booed when SV Rittsteig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lothar Jung didn't get a good kick on the ball. SV Rittsteig's Sebastian Mann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save SV Rittsteig from getting a goal against them. In the 42nd minute, Wolfgang Laudan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sebastian Mann, passed just outside the right post. SV Rittsteig's Sebastian Mann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uwe Mehring in the 43rd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Uwe Mehring to make the kick off. The supporters of SV Rittsteig booed when Welterod was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uwe Mehring didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henning Pfaff's late challenge caught a Welterod's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henning Pfaff helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, SV Rittsteig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henning Pfaff to maneuver through the defense. Welterod's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
