Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Arnold Koslow started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Springender Hirsch's Arnold Koslow in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Hans Ackermann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justin Iyidirli having to interfere. Karsten Holtzmann was shown his second yellow card after 38 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Karsten Holtzmann kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Marco Wannemaker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Birk Kreuzer's late challenge caught a Springender Hirsch's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Birk Kreuzer helped the player get up and apologised. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Springender Hirsch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grüna the free kick. After a rather tough play, Springender Hirsch's Carl Gobsch got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 74th minute of the match, Don Danz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gunnar Tiggelkamp was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Marco Wannemaker came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Grüna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Wannemaker couldn't finish the play. If Hans Ackermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Grüna failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
