In the 27thth minute of the game Markus Hofmeier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marschhorst's Torsten Gmelin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Torsten Gmelin managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Wüllenrath's Markus Hofmeier fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jörg Wengle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemens Havemann, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lukas Milles in the 34th minute of play forced Wüllenrath's goalkeeper Jörg Wengle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clemens Havemann was the one to do the kick off. In the 60th minute, Markus Hofmeier made a precise shot to the right of Torsten Gmelin. Marschhorst's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Jörg Wengle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemens Havemann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wüllenrath's Jörg Wengle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemens Havemann in the 76th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Wüllenrath's zone, Lukas Milles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jörg Wengle came out of the goal and Lukas Milles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jörg Wengle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lukas Milles in the 82nd minute. Wüllenrath's Jörg Wengle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Wüllenrath from getting a goal against them. Lukas Milles came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jörg Wengle could save by the left post. Torsten Gmelin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davor Ammann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Davor Ammann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jörg Wengle made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Lukas Milles sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Marschhorst booed when Wüllenrath was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norman Blomme didn't get a good kick on the ball.
