Stierstadt FSV's Jan Kreibisch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Stierstadt FSV from getting a goal against them. In the 20th minute Hans Ackermann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Kreibisch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Anton Allensbach ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gunnar Tiggelkamp was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 28 minutes into the match, Otto Knauf had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gunnar Tiggelkamp. Grüna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otto Knauf was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Jan Kreibisch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Wannemaker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Otto Knauf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hans Ackermann struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Jan Kreibisch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grüna. The Grüna players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Stierstadt FSV were winning 0-2.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Hannes Rösler got free with Gunnar Tiggelkamp in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute, Hans Ackermann made a precise shot to the right of Jan Kreibisch. Stierstadt FSV's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. With his leg Gunnar Tiggelkamp managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Stierstadt FSV's Otto Knauf fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Grüna's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Hannes Rösler scored to the left of an out of position Gunnar Tiggelkamp, making the score, 2-3. 92 minutes into the game, Birk Kreuzer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grüna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stierstadt FSV the free kick. Birk Kreuzer hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Grüna fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Stierstadt FSV were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
