Dirk Käppler hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Matthias Kurbjuweit made a precise shot to the right of Rudolf Harnack. Rosenfeld's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 19 minutes of play, KFC Uerdingen's Egidius Pfitzner made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rudolf Harnack was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rosenfeld's Rudolf Harnack played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikolaus Zapf in the 23rd minute of play. In the 26th minute Egidius Pfitzner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolf Harnack saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rudolf Harnack showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthias Kurbjuweit, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egidius Pfitzner in the 40th minute of play forced Rosenfeld's goalkeeper Rudolf Harnack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Uerdingen's zone, Elmar Appelt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Klaus-Dieter van Hoddis came out of the goal and Elmar Appelt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Elmar Appelt fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rosenfeld's protests and gave Elmar Appelt a yellow card for diving instead. Elmar Appelt kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Matthias Kurbjuweit made a precise shot to the right of Rudolf Harnack. Rosenfeld's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After the first half KFC Uerdingen were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lukas Hutterer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Rosenfeld fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rudolf Harnack should have stopped the shot. Rudolf Harnack made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egidius Pfitzner in the 66th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Matthias Kurbjuweit reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rudolf Harnack. The goal made the score 0-6. Rudolf Harnack made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matthias Kurbjuweit in the 72nd minute. Rudolf Harnack showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthias Kurbjuweit in the 73rd minute of the match. Rosenfeld's Rudolf Harnack proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Rosenfeld from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Egidius Pfitzner got free with Rudolf Harnack in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
