The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the match, Weser-Kicker's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Roye came free, but Erhard Bluhm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angelo Munz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Asrin Barenz having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Torsten Jahns in the 17th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Baumminator's Friedemann Uebach. A collision led to Baumminator getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Wolf Steckamp hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, Weser-Kicker's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Roye came free, but Erhard Bluhm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erhard Bluhm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudi Carlos in the 35th minute of play. Wim Roye received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Erhard Bluhm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Ingmar Amstutz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Weser-Kicker's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Baumminator the free kick. After a rather tough play, Weser-Kicker's Ingmar Amstutz got a free kick in the 47th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Angelo Munz to strike the kick off in the second half. Angelo Munz might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Asrin Barenz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Angelo Munz ran back to his position shaking his head. 54 minutes into the match, Weser-Kicker's Angelo Munz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Asrin Barenz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Weser-Kicker's attentive Ingmar Amstutz managed to snatch the ball when Wilhelm Bauer made a throw-in in the 58th minute of the game. After 60 played minutes Weser-Kicker got a freekick which was hit by Ingmar Amstutz. Wim Roye's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erhard Bluhm read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Wim Roye sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Karsten Krickel kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelo Munz in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Asrin Barenz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Weser-Kicker fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Weser-Kicker's Angelo Munz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 77th minute, Wim Roye left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Baumminator fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Erhard Bluhm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Roye in the 80th minute of the match. When Karsten Krickel fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Baumminator's protests and gave Karsten Krickel a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Baumminator! Raphael Tolle scored 2-1 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Asrin Barenz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gilbert Finman charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilbert Finman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gilbert Finman hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Weser-Kicker players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
