Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Utz Weinforth took the kick off in the first half of the match. Eberhard Baur stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Utz Weinforth's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. 6 minutes into the game, Utz Weinforth cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Eberhard Baur was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to VfL Tegel getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Edwin Weißbach hit a great ball. In the 13thth minute of the game Utz Weinforth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VfL Tegel's Eberhard Baur was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Großgöhren's zone, Otto Klemme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olaf Kreuz came out of the goal and Otto Klemme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Utz Weinforth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eberhard Baur having to interfere. The supporters of Großgöhren booed when VfL Tegel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carl Meier didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, VfL Tegel's goal looked a bit too open when Utz Weinforth came free, but Eberhard Baur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Eugen Spanehl managed to get in a good position for a shot. VfL Tegel's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugen Spanehl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olaf Kreuz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eberhard Baur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Utz Weinforth, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Karl Hummel hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the game, Eugen Spanehl recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Olaf Kreuz. Eugen Spanehl showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Olaf Kreuz made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Otto Klemme sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute, Eugen Spanehl got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Utz Weinforth kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The supporters of Großgöhren booed when VfL Tegel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niels Braun didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eugen Spanehl was the one to do the kick off. Palle Krahforst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in VfL Tegel's zone, Philo Lingemann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eberhard Baur came out of the goal and Philo Lingemann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 94 minutes, Utz Weinforth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Großgöhren's supporters crossed their fingers, but Utz Weinforth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Philo Lingemann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Großgöhren's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because VfL Tegel had won, even though Großgöhren had held more of the ball.
