After a rather tough play, Talhof's Pascal Lopez got a free kick in the 2nd minute. If Wilken Winterstein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Eisleben's Mark Walti got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Talhof's Benno Fleckenstein got a free kick in the 6th minute. Werner Nitzsche showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilken Winterstein in the 8th minute of the match. Tobias Rothschild's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Werner Nitzsche read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peer Brütt in the 14th minute of play forced Talhof's goalkeeper Werner Nitzsche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Talhof's Werner Nitzsche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobias Rothschild in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute Jürgen Kuhlmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niels Wege saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 minutes of play, FC Eisleben's Christoph Ganz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Werner Nitzsche was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC Eisleben's Tobias Rothschild got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnold Fydrich hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Dietrich Baumgärtner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niels Wege made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Niclas Bokan sent off a good shot on target. 28 minutes into the game, Jürgen Kuhlmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Talhof's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Eisleben the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Talhof was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jürgen Kuhlmann to maneuver through the defense. After 32 minutes, Dietrich Baumgärtner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Eisleben and the Talhof players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Eisleben getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Dietrich Baumgärtner hit a great ball. Niels Wege was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Pascal Lopez. Christoph Ganz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Tobias Rothschild had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mark Walti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Werner Nitzsche having to interfere. Christoph Ganz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Werner Nitzsche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Jürgen Kuhlmann took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Niels Wege to make any attempt to save it. Mark Walti struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Werner Nitzsche didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Eisleben. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jürgen Kuhlmann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Peer Brütt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnold Fydrich kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. If Tobias Rothschild had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jürgen Kuhlmann in the 55th minute of play forced FC Eisleben's goalkeeper Niels Wege to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Werner Nitzsche made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mark Walti in the 57th minute. Mark Walti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Werner Nitzsche made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Talhof's zone, Wilken Winterstein stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Werner Nitzsche came out of the goal and Wilken Winterstein tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Niels Wege made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jürgen Kuhlmann in the 64th minute of play. Benno Fleckenstein's late challenge caught a FC Eisleben's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benno Fleckenstein helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Talhof's Benno Fleckenstein got a free kick in the 65th minute. Werner Nitzsche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobias Rothschild in the 68th minute of play. Niels Wege made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnold Fydrich in the 70th minute of play. Wilken Winterstein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tobias Rothschild received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Werner Nitzsche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, FC Eisleben was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dietrich Baumgärtner to maneuver through the defense. Werner Nitzsche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilken Winterstein, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 94th minute, Mark Walti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Niels Wege came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Talhof's Niclas Bokan. But to his dismay, Niclas Bokan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Many of FC Eisleben's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. FC Eisleben may have spent more time on the ball, but Talhof were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
