Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Heiko Sill started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Mario Fieber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Heiner Kornmeier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heiko Sill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Heiko Sill might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heiner Kornmeier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Heiko Sill ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, InterWerder's Henning Nitz got a free kick in the 13th minute. Tord Hilger kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Reiner Jaksch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henning Nitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute Heiko Sill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heiner Kornmeier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeno Krieger hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Stephane Lösekrug managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jeerhof FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephane Lösekrug was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Jeerhof FSV's Stephane Lösekrug nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Heiner Kornmeier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Reiner Jaksch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henning Nitz in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henning Nitz was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Frank Pontzen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reiner Jaksch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Jeerhof FSV's Raoul Erler got a free kick in the 56th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Jeerhof FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Henning Nitz came free, but Reiner Jaksch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. James Schmieta's late challenge caught a InterWerder's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reiner Jaksch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Pontzen in the 77th minute of the match. Stephane Lösekrug was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Jeerhof FSV's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Heiko Sill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Raoul Erler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reiner Jaksch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonhard Winkler in the 90th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Jeerhof FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Henning Nitz came free, but Reiner Jaksch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. InterWerder's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Albrecht Kloppers in the 97th minute. The corner led InterWerder's Albrecht Kloppers to fire away a dangerous shot which Reiner Jaksch despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The InterWerder fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Jeerhof FSV were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
