After having played for 43 minutes, Hermann Dietz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luttermann FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermann Dietz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Luttermann FC's Dagoberto Loyola got control of the ball when Rainer Kugler tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Leif Lieberwirth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduard Hebel having to interfere. Eduard Hebel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerold Grob, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute.
