After a defensive mix-up in RB Gladbach 93's zone, Lew Schäfer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wolfram Ostendorff came out of the goal and Lew Schäfer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, Winfried Kitzberger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wolfram Ostendorff. RB Gladbach 93's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Winfried Kitzberger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Lew Schäfer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Wolfram Ostendorff made a huge save. The Rehfelde FSV fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Rehfelde FSV's Lew Schäfer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Wenzel Lukner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walther Reckmaier, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 88 minutes into the match, Rehfelde FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Walther Reckmaier came free, but Wenzel Lukner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 89 minutes into the game, Lew Schäfer recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wolfram Ostendorff. Lew Schäfer showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Gernot Hartenbach was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 93rd match minute, Rehfelde FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gernot Hartenbach to maneuver through the defense.
