Trabzonspor's Anastasio Santo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Ahlstedt in the 15th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Hartmut Hester ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anastasio Santo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, Gene Centaurs Munich's goalkeeper Thomas Trenker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Curtis Ohrem. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andreas Ahlstedt in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anastasio Santo saved Trabzonspor from getting behind. After having played for 43 minutes, Andreas Ahlstedt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gene Centaurs Munich's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andreas Ahlstedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trabzonspor. 95 minutes into the game, Hartmut Hester recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Anastasio Santo. Hartmut Hester showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4.
