The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Andreas Ahlstedt let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 6th minute shot 2-0 at rihgt post. 13 minutes into the match, Schmerold's goalkeeper Bernhard Kliemann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andreas Ahlstedt. Schmerold's Bernhard Kliemann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hartmut Hester in the 16th minute of play. Julius Feike kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Bernhard Kliemann made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Kasimir Kehr sent off a good shot on target. Klemens Gölz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Thomas Trenker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willi Koslowski in the 78th minute of the match. In the 91st match minute, Schmerold was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willi Koslowski to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes into the match, Schmerold's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Ahlstedt came free, but Bernhard Kliemann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Kasimir Kehr came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Gene Centaurs Munich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kasimir Kehr couldn't finish the play. Gene Centaurs Munich walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
