FC Selb's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zhao Fei Ling was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in FC Selb's zone, Simon Bannenbusch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Issa Casillas came out of the goal and Simon Bannenbusch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Artemio Banegas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Issa Casillas was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Artemio Banegas took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Issa Casillas. The FC Selb fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. KFC Uerdingen 05 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
