In the 27th minute Simon Bannenbusch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius Tenbruck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Simon Bannenbusch notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of SV PM Cottbus's Julius Tenbruck. Carl Tempel was slow to take the kick. During this time SV PM Cottbus's players had a chance to rest. SV PM Cottbus's Carl Tempel was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tymoteusz Mios in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Simon Bannenbusch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SV PM Cottbus getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Ansgar Kleim hit a great ball. KFC Uerdingen 05's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Udo Renger scored to the left of an out of position Tymoteusz Mios, making the score, 1-3. Ansgar Kleim kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ansgar Kleim during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 46 played minutes SV PM Cottbus got a freekick which was hit by Ansgar Kleim. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

KFC Uerdingen 05's Tymoteusz Mios played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Udo Renger in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Udo Renger in the 88th minute of play forced KFC Uerdingen 05's goalkeeper Tymoteusz Mios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th match minute, SV PM Cottbus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Federico Ecke to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute of the match, Arseniy Bokatyuk sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Julius Tenbruck showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. KFC Uerdingen 05's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
