With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baldomero Zafrilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 17 minutes into the game, Schalke 04's Pit Mögle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baldomero Zafrilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximilian Stübner in the 26th minute of play forced SV Barmbek von 1939's goalkeeper Baldomero Zafrilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SV Barmbek von 1939's Baldomero Zafrilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pit Mögle in the 28th minute of play. Falko Keck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Baldomero Zafrilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Philipp Schmidhuber sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SV Barmbek von 1939's Baldomero Zafrilla didn't even have to move. Benjamin Hundhammer charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benjamin Hundhammer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of SV Barmbek von 1939:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Schalke 04:s goal. The referee gave Schalke 04 a penalty, 38 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Philipp Schmidhuber, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SV Barmbek von 1939's Baldomero Zafrilla. 1-3. Schalke 04's Pit Mögle got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bob Laukenmann made a kick off. Christoph Riether kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After 52 minutes, David Keute mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schalke 04 and the SV Barmbek von 1939 players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Schalke 04 getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. David Keute hit a great ball. Pit Mögle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomero Zafrilla having to interfere. Baldomero Zafrilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Krupp in the 72nd minute of play. With a little luck, SV Barmbek von 1939's Baldomero Zafrilla got control of the ball when Pit Mögle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pit Mögle took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baldomero Zafrilla. Baldomero Zafrilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Maximilian Stübner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schalke 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximilian Stübner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baldomero Zafrilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th minute, Maximilian Stübner reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Baldomero Zafrilla. The goal made the score 1-7. Baldomero Zafrilla was a little too slow when Pit Mögle got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 91st minute. The score was now 1-8. Baldomero Zafrilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximilian Stübner, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
