Bob Laukenmann started the match with the kick off. If Hugo Ixaka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 4 minutes into the match, SV Barmbek von 1939's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Ixaka came free, but Baldomero Zafrilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 6 minutes, Mosche Dubberke successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hugo Ixaka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baldomero Zafrilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Jesús Banana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reinhard Gradistanac hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 13 played minutes SV Barmbek von 1939 got a freekick which was hit by Alfons Spanl. In the 17th match minute, Brauer FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesús Banana to maneuver through the defense. Bob Laukenmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Mosche Dubberke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baldomero Zafrilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias-Alexander Leers in the 21st minute of the match. If Lothar Werner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 played minutes SV Barmbek von 1939 got a freekick which was hit by Reinhard Gradistanac. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesús Banana in the 27th minute of play forced SV Barmbek von 1939's goalkeeper Baldomero Zafrilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stefan Königshaus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Lothar Werner came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the SV Barmbek von 1939 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lothar Werner couldn't finish the play. Brauer FC's Sascha Knop was substituted for Stefan Königshaus. 45 minutes into the match, SV Barmbek von 1939's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Ixaka came free, but Baldomero Zafrilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Hugo Ixaka made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the game Berend Kuhn made a throw-in which Xaime Diez played forward. Baldomero Zafrilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Ixaka in the 55th minute of play. With a little luck, SV Barmbek von 1939's Baldomero Zafrilla got control of the ball when Hugo Ixaka tried to sneak it across the goal line. SV Barmbek von 1939's Baldomero Zafrilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathias-Alexander Leers in the 61st minute of play. SV Barmbek von 1939's Boris Althoff was substituted for Alfons Spanl. Mathias-Alexander Leers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Hugo Ixaka in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Baldomero Zafrilla, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Baldomero Zafrilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Ixaka in the 82nd minute of the match. After 95 minutes, Darius Minge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brauer FC and the SV Barmbek von 1939 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes Brauer FC got a freekick which was hit by Darius Minge.
