Seating: 1949, VIP seats: 169) Fenerbahce SK's Karsten Jeschik started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Fenerbahce SK getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Björn Ödman hit a great ball. Ratko Schrag made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximilian Stübner in the 10th minute of play. In the 10th minute Maximilian Stübner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ratko Schrag saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Schalke 04's Udo Möllenstädt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rick Scheck in the 11th minute of play. After 17 minutes of play, Schalke 04's Maximilian Stübner made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ratko Schrag was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fenerbahce SK's Ratko Schrag played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philipp Schmidhuber in the 20th minute of play. Rick Scheck who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Udo Möllenstädt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Julian Laurentzi kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Schalke 04's Barnaba Kisiel got a free kick in the 26th minute. Ratko Schrag showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximilian Stübner, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute Maximilian Stübner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ratko Schrag saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Fenerbahce SK's goal looked a bit too open when Philipp Schmidhuber came free, but Ratko Schrag reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Philipp Schmidhuber stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Rex Päßler fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fenerbahce SK's protests and gave Rex Päßler a yellow card for diving instead. Rex Päßler kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 52nd minute, Philipp Schmidhuber sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Fenerbahce SK's Ratko Schrag didn't even have to move. 64 minutes into the match, Fenerbahce SK's goal looked a bit too open when Falko Keck came free, but Ratko Schrag reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Karsten Jeschik made a precise shot to the right of Udo Möllenstädt. Schalke 04's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Rick Scheck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Udo Möllenstädt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Danilo Brozulat hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Pit Mögle spun around in front of the goal 73 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Fenerbahce SK's goal. 81 minutes into the match, Rick Scheck notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Schalke 04's Udo Möllenstädt. Udo Möllenstädt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Karsten Jeschik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Udo Möllenstädt having to interfere. 86 minutes into the game, Karsten Jeschik cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-1. Udo Möllenstädt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Schalke 04's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
