Seating: 1938, VIP seats: 168) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Eckard Pohl made the kick off which started today's match. Burkhard Michalke kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Kevin Gottmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Finn Kreuels in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute Finn Kreuels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Gottmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kevin Gottmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Finn Kreuels, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Finn Kreuels cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Kevin Gottmann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 21 minutes into the match, DORTMUND's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Ackermann came free, but Kevin Gottmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kevin Gottmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Burkhard Michalke in the 22nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Finn Kreuels in the 23rd minute of play forced DORTMUND's goalkeeper Kevin Gottmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kevin Gottmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Finn Kreuels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lysander Zierer kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, DORTMUND's Eckard Pohl nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jens Ebbenga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The supporters of BSC Jena 98 booed when DORTMUND was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomm Berckmans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eckard Pohl's late challenge caught a BSC Jena 98's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kevin Gottmann was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anton Ackermann was the one to do the kick off. Kevin Gottmann made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Kim Pretzer sent off a good shot on target. If Murat Grotthaus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jens Ebbenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murat Grotthaus in the 60th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Finn Kreuels took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Kevin Gottmann to make any attempt to save it. DORTMUND's Kamal Al Arbash was substituted for Eckard Pohl. DORTMUND's Kevin Gottmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Ackermann in the 75th minute of play. With a little luck, DORTMUND's Kevin Gottmann got control of the ball when Kim Pretzer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jens Ebbenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 played minutes BSC Jena 98 got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Passmann. Jens Ebbenga came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by DORTMUND's Murat Grotthaus. But to his dismay, Murat Grotthaus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. BSC Jena 98's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
