Luciano Aurken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens Burmeister in the 7th minute of play. After 8 minutes, Noah Weissberger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bayer Leverkusen and the GKS Witosa players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th match minute, Bayer Leverkusen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noah Weissberger to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 9 in the game by Pankracy Kocieniewski from a close distance when the talented Reynaldo Custódio managed to make a qualified save. Bayer Leverkusen's players were relieved. In the 11th match minute, GKS Witosa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopold Claaßen to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to GKS Witosa getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Gerald Hüsken hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, GKS Witosa's Uwe Krause got a free kick in the 17th minute. After some careless play in the GKS Witosa defense, Jens Burmeister kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luciano Aurken. The GKS Witosa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luciano Aurken should have stopped the shot. In the 22ndth minute of the game Hank Schrader who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GKS Witosa's Luciano Aurken was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens Burmeister in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luciano Aurken prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hank Schrader hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Pankracy Kocieniewski did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Reynaldo Custódio 31 minutes into the match. Luciano Aurken came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Bayer Leverkusen's Hank Schrader. But to his dismay, Hank Schrader quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 39th minute, Marinus Buhr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pankracy Kocieniewski made a kick off. Pankracy Kocieniewski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Reynaldo Custódio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pankracy Kocieniewski in the 57th minute of play. Reynaldo Custódio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heinrich Dietz in the 58th minute of the match. Jens Burmeister's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 59thth minute, Luciano Aurken skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Bayer Leverkusen's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jens Burmeister in the 61st minute. In the 62ndth minute of the game Jens Burmeister who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GKS Witosa's Luciano Aurken was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The corner led GKS Witosa's Heinrich Dietz to fire away a dangerous shot which Reynaldo Custódio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 66th minute, Hank Schrader hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the game, Bayer Leverkusen's Hank Schrader nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luciano Aurken made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Mathias Sobbe hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 76 minutes into the game, Leopold Claaßen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GKS Witosa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bayer Leverkusen the free kick. A collision led to GKS Witosa getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Leopold Claaßen hit a great ball. Jens Burmeister could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Luciano Aurken made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Bayer Leverkusen's zone, Raşit Sadullah stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Custódio came out of the goal and Raşit Sadullah tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reynaldo Custódio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerald Hüsken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the match, GKS Witosa's goalkeeper Luciano Aurken had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mathias Sobbe. Noah Weissberger hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
