The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Guido Schamberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias Sobbe in the 4th minute of the match. Guido Schamberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens Burmeister in the 7th minute of play. Jens Burmeister kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Guido Schamberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens Burmeister, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 played minutes Bayer Leverkusen got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Sobbe. Bobby Geladaris hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Bayer Leverkusen's Reynaldo Custódio got control of the ball when Patrick Knopf tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute of the match FC Hinterfindmichnicht got a corner. Bayer Leverkusen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wojtek Breda ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jens Burmeister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guido Schamberg came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Bayer Leverkusen's Hank Schrader. But to his dismay, Hank Schrader quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. FC Hinterfindmichnicht's Guido Schamberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens Burmeister in the 36th minute of play. Guido Schamberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens Burmeister, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. A collision led to Bayer Leverkusen getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Noah Weissberger hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Patrick Knopf managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Hinterfindmichnicht's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Knopf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Custódio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Helge Rosenthal hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The FC Hinterfindmichnicht players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bayer Leverkusen were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jens Burmeister stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mathias Linke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC Hinterfindmichnicht fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Hank Schrader fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guido Schamberg having to interfere. If Patrick Knopf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 73 minutes, Mathias Sobbe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bayer Leverkusen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathias Sobbe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute, Pieter Schubert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Patrick Knopf came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the FC Hinterfindmichnicht fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrick Knopf couldn't finish the play. 85 minutes into the match, Bayer Leverkusen's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Knopf came free, but Reynaldo Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FC Hinterfindmichnicht getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Daniel Schilde hit a great ball. After 94 played minutes FC Hinterfindmichnicht got a freekick which was hit by Werner Traband. Bayer Leverkusen were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing FC Hinterfindmichnicht to leave the ground with a draw.
