Pitt Gross showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 15 minutes into the match, Reinhard Borkmann notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Welkershausen FSV's Leander Schachow. Leander Schachow was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 19th minute Benny White shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leander Schachow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reinhard Borkmann took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leander Schachow. Leander Schachow dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Reinhard Borkmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hamburg City Vampires's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinhard Borkmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leander Schachow breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Welkershausen FSV's zone, Reinhard Borkmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leander Schachow came out of the goal and Reinhard Borkmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Esau Preuße came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Welkershausen FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esau Preuße couldn't finish the play. Fred Mendonça blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leander Schachow having to make a save. Reinhard Borkmann struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Leander Schachow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hamburg City Vampires. Eggert Ditsche hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. 49 minutes into the match, Fred Mendonça notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Welkershausen FSV's Leander Schachow. Leander Schachow was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pitt Gross to make the kick off. Leander Schachow made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. Fred Mendonça blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leander Schachow having to make a save. If Fred Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fred Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Eggert Ditsche fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Welkershausen FSV's protests and gave Eggert Ditsche a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes Welkershausen FSV got a freekick which was hit by Eggert Ditsche. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Hamburg City Vampires's goalkeeper Eugeniusz Tyski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leander Schachow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fred Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Hamburg City Vampires fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fred Mendonça couldn't finish the play. Reinhard Borkmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leander Schachow read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. After 90 minutes Welkershausen FSV's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ivica Lufen who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Hamburg City Vampires's corner Ivica Lufen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Leander Schachow quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to Welkershausen FSV getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Pitt Gross hit a great ball.
