Okanay Kunter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Okanay Kunter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Remo Totti made a huge save. Wolfgang Dallmeier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudolf Jeske, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute, VFR Stommeln's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Okanay Kunter fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 23 minutes into the match, Eduard Pajewski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wolfgang Dallmeier. Roitzheim's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduard Pajewski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The supporters of VFR Stommeln booed when Roitzheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidelio Weispfenning didn't get a good kick on the ball. VFR Stommeln's Remo Totti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pascal Colombo in the 42nd minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rudolf Jeske to make the kick off.
