Spectators: 8468 (Terracing: 6352, Seating: 1947, VIP seats: 169) Herrenberg F.C.'s Simon Rupprecht started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes AC Rostock got a freekick which was hit by Markus Dobinski. After having played for 9 minutes, Taisto Leppänen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Rostock's supporters crossed their fingers, but Taisto Leppänen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute Michael Flosbach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per Klesper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Taisto Leppänen in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carsten Pampuch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Taisto Leppänen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd minute AC Rostock were awarded a corner. Gilberto Abancens went to the cornerflag to take it. AC Rostock's Gilberto Abancens was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Carsten Pampuch in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Taisto Leppänen put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Carsten Pampuch. After a rather tough play, Herrenberg F.C.'s Arnauld Ruttens got a free kick in the 36th minute. Herrenberg F.C.'s Carsten Pampuch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taisto Leppänen in the 37th minute of play. Markus Dobinski kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Taisto Leppänen hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. AC Rostock's Per Klesper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Flosbach in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, AC Rostock's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Reis came free, but Per Klesper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 played minutes Herrenberg F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Reinhold Jensen. After 47 minutes, Taisto Leppänen made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Herrenberg F.C.'s Carsten Pampuch tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.

Carsten Pampuch made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. 63 minutes into the match, AC Rostock's goal looked a bit too open when Walery Biegun came free, but Per Klesper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AC Rostock's Christopher Radtke was substituted for Onwuemelie Onwuachi. Herrenberg F.C.'s Carsten Pampuch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Herrenberg F.C. from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Herrenberg F.C.'s Arndt Koschyk got a free kick in the 94th minute. Herrenberg F.C.'s Carsten Pampuch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Abancens in the 97th minute of play. The AC Rostock supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AC Rostock would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
