Boubacar Otabo scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebastian Titz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 8th minute Boubacar Otabo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Titz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Guy Rothe notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of VfL Bad Nenndorf's Lucrețiu Brătescu. Lucrețiu Brătescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guy Rothe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Lucrețiu Brătescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelo Milanese spun around in front of the goal 15 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of VfL Bad Nenndorf's goal. 19 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lv Kun Liang came free, but Sebastian Titz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aygün Soysan hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Önder Cebi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ludwig Hanstein in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucrețiu Brătescu saved VfL Bad Nenndorf from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Önder Cebi in the 38th minute of play forced VfL Bad Nenndorf's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Brătescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucrețiu Brătescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdinand Mendy, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Armando Abeita kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute Boubacar Otabo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Titz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Themis Papadimoulis made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Sebastian Titz got control of the ball when Themis Papadimoulis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sebastian Titz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Themis Papadimoulis, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. VfL Bad Nenndorf's Lucrețiu Brătescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guy Rothe in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by VfL Bad Nenndorf's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Despite this Lucrețiu Brătescu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Sebastian Titz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lv Kun Liang in the 91st minute of play. The VfL Bad Nenndorf players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
