Bořek Šobáň made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josef Hamerník in the 4th minute of play. Shamrock Rovers's Bořek Šobáň played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josef Hamerník in the 5th minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Shamrock Rovers's goal looked a bit too open when Josef Hamerník came free, but Bořek Šobáň reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josef Hamerník in the 8th minute of play forced Shamrock Rovers's goalkeeper Bořek Šobáň to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute Josef Hamerník shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bořek Šobáň saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Helmut Tkadlec cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Bořek Šobáň was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bořek Šobáň took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Helmut Tkadlec, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute Czeslaw Budzynski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bořek Šobáň saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrej Marvan hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After having played for 31 minutes, Josef Hamerník managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Osík's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josef Hamerník was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SK Osík's Petr Dašek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save SK Osík from getting a goal against them. Czeslaw Budzynski succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. The supporters of SK Osík booed when Shamrock Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrej Marvan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, SK Osík's Václav Váchal got a free kick in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Josef Hamerník notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Shamrock Rovers's Bořek Šobáň. Bořek Šobáň was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Josef Hamerník had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Josef Hamerník made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Josef Hamerník got free with Bořek Šobáň in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 53 minutes, Václav Váchal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Osík's supporters crossed their fingers, but Václav Váchal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vlastimil Hala's late challenge caught a SK Osík's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vlastimil Hala helped the player get up and apologised. Vlastimil Hala kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Czeslaw Budzynski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bořek Šobáň saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josef Hamerník in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bořek Šobáň, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josef Hamerník in the 66th minute of play forced Shamrock Rovers's goalkeeper Bořek Šobáň to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Shamrock Rovers getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Vlastimír Bušta hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the match, Shamrock Rovers's goalkeeper Bořek Šobáň had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Josef Hamerník. Czeslaw Budzynski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bořek Šobáň having to interfere. Shamrock Rovers's Bořek Šobáň played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Czeslaw Budzynski in the 77th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Shamrock Rovers's zone, Josef Hamerník stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bořek Šobáň came out of the goal and Josef Hamerník tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute, Josef Hamerník ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bořek Šobáň was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Martin Urbanec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petr Dašek having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Ondřej Reindl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. František Nosek, 94 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 97 minutes, Jiří Smolka mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SK Osík and the Shamrock Rovers players grew even worse after the yellow card. SK Osík:s Petr Dašek showed great skill when he stopped František Nosek:s penalty.
