Michal Hradil hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. František Chmelař took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesare Staniscia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. František Chmelař made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hartwig Lückmann in the 10th minute of play. Cesare Staniscia took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised František Chmelař. František Chmelař dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 17th minute, Cesare Staniscia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Zbyhněv Tylšar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Brankowitz booed when Rudé hvezdy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michail Pelech didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brankowitz's František Chmelař played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesare Staniscia in the 27th minute of play. Cesare Staniscia might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over František Chmelař. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cesare Staniscia ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 35th minute, Cesare Staniscia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cesare Staniscia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but František Chmelař read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Brankowitz's zone, Cesare Staniscia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The Brankowitz players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rudé hvezdy were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cesare Staniscia to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Cesare Staniscia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rudé hvezdy's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesare Staniscia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. František Chmelař breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rudé hvezdy's Michail Pelech got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Rudé hvezdy's Zbyhněv Tylšar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that František Chmelař narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zbyhněv Tylšar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cesare Staniscia got free with František Chmelař in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Brankowitz's František Chmelař got control of the ball when Maroš Václav tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rudé hvezdy's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
