Spectators: 5001 (Terracing: 4001, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bruno Kaštovský kicked off to start the match. In the 5th match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Branislav Teichmann to maneuver through the defense. When Martin Mezera fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Slovan Prešov's protests and gave Martin Mezera a yellow card for diving instead. Palermo's Oskar Ivan quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Vítězslav Hošek, made in the 10th minute of the game. Arnold Slunečko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marian Pěnkava in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute of the match Palermo got a corner. Slovan Prešov's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Simon Klein ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Simon Klein got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arnold Slunečko quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 18th play minutes Bruno Kaštovský shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Stanislav Cenek and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 25th minute, Štěpán Adámek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marian Pěnkava sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Marian Pěnkava managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palermo's supporters rose to their feet, but Marian Pěnkava was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnold Slunečko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Marian Pěnkava put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Arnold Slunečko. Zdeněk Štengl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Arnold Slunečko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Slovan Prešov's goalkeeper Arnold Slunečko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michal Vondruška. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marian Pěnkava was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Slovan Prešov got a freekick which was hit by Pavel Fajfr. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zdeněk Štengl in the 56th minute of play forced Slovan Prešov's goalkeeper Arnold Slunečko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnold Slunečko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Pěnkava in the 69th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Slovan Prešov's goal looked a bit too open when Zdeněk Štengl came free, but Arnold Slunečko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palermo's Marian Pěnkava got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marian Pěnkava in the 73rd minute of play forced Slovan Prešov's goalkeeper Arnold Slunečko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Zdeněk Štengl left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palermo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 79 minutes into the match, Slovan Prešov's goal looked a bit too open when Zdeněk Štengl came free, but Arnold Slunečko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnold Slunečko came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Palermo's Zdeněk Štengl. But to his dismay, Zdeněk Štengl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. After 88 minutes, Zdeněk Štengl mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palermo and the Slovan Prešov players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91stth minute of the game Marian Pěnkava who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Slovan Prešov's Arnold Slunečko was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Palermo's Oskar Ivan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnold Slunečko made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1.
