The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Aleš Svatek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimír Bažo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonid Hejl in the 62nd minute of play forced Pirana's goalkeeper Vladimír Bažo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th match minute, Pirana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hynek Pešek to maneuver through the defense. Leonid Hejl recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Saša Scholz charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saša Scholz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Medvedi players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
