Spectators: 6700 (Terracing: 5025, Seating: 1541, VIP seats: 134) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Roy Frank started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Robert Tunberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC St.Gallen's supporters rose to their feet, but Robert Tunberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Floyd Gräf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Homburg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Robert Tunberg scored to the left of an out of position Floyd Gräf, making the score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Homburg's zone, Robert Tunberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Floyd Gräf came out of the goal and Robert Tunberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Gibson Amberg got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience was convinced that Robert Tunberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Floyd Gräf was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Homburg's Floyd Gräf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Tunberg in the 17th minute of play. Floyd Gräf made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gibson Amberg in the 20th minute. In the 25th minute Kiran Decorvet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralf Buschor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Floyd Gräf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Tunberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. From a short distance, FC St.Gallen's Robert Tunberg, in the 30th minute, tried to place the ball behind Floyd Gräf, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. In the 31st minute, Benjamin Besse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Floyd Gräf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Tunberg in the 33rd minute of play. Flo Dalmedico kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Homburg's Floyd Gräf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Tunberg in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Homburg's goalkeeper Floyd Gräf had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gibson Amberg. In the 39th minute Robert Tunberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Floyd Gräf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Tunberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Floyd Gräf. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Tunberg ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Robert Tunberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Robert Tunberg took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Floyd Gräf. Floyd Gräf dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Roy Frank sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC St.Gallen's Robert Tunberg got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Floyd Gräf stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robert Tunberg's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Robert Tunberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Floyd Gräf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th match minute, Homburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flo Dalmedico to maneuver through the defense. Robert Tunberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute Robert Tunberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Floyd Gräf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glen Pfiffer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 84 minutes, Gibson Amberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC St.Gallen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gibson Amberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 88th minute Glen Pfiffer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Floyd Gräf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lienhard Witschi hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Floyd Gräf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Tunberg in the 94th minute of play.
