But to his dismay, John Askberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Yannis Laube took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustavo Lüdi. Gustavo Lüdi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kain Trudeau in the 31st minute of play forced Arsenal FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Lüdi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd match minute, Basilea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Irwin Dubak to maneuver through the defense. Gustavo Lüdi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kain Trudeau, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Gustavo Lüdi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kain Trudeau, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Gustavo Lüdi was a little too slow when Kain Trudeau got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 3-3. John Askberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Fankhauser having to interfere. Arsenal FC's Jim Hager was substituted for Vittore Zihlmann. Gustavo Lüdi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kain Trudeau in the 82nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Basilea defense, Evandro Hames kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Fankhauser. The Basilea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Fankhauser should have stopped the shot. Yannis Laube's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gustavo Lüdi firmly grabbed it by the left post. For all the effort they put into the match, the Basilea players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Arsenal FC.
