The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 minutes of play, Boys for Ever's Philippe Lanzendorfer made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rico Furrer was left in no man's land by his defense there! 13 minutes into the game, Salenstein Panthers's Ralph Stadelmann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manolo Feer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The audience was convinced that Jarik Jaun's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manolo Feer was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Jarik Jaun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Manolo Feer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Salenstein Panthers's goalkeeper Rico Furrer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Manolo Feer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarik Jaun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rico Furrer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Keller in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Boys for Ever's zone, Jarik Jaun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manolo Feer came out of the goal and Jarik Jaun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manolo Feer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarik Jaun, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarik Jaun in the 42nd minute of play forced Boys for Ever's goalkeeper Manolo Feer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Salenstein Panthers booed when Boys for Ever was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salomon Parizeau didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute, Jarik Jaun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Manolo Feer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarik Jaun in the 55th minute of play. When Joao Pomi fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salenstein Panthers's protests and gave Joao Pomi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Salenstein Panthers getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Joao Pomi hit a great ball. Rico Furrer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Keller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manolo Feer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ralph Stadelmann in the 66th minute. Ralph Stadelmann did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Manolo Feer 72 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Boys for Ever's Manolo Feer got control of the ball when Ralph Stadelmann tried to sneak it across the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Jarik Jaun cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Manolo Feer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Richard Keller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute, Philippe Lanzendorfer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jarik Jaun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralph Stadelmann came free with the goalkeeper in the 96th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Manolo Feer could save by the left post. When the match was over Salenstein Panthers could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Boys for Ever throughout the match.
