Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ludwig Oberholzer took the kick off in the first half of the match. FC Thun's Christian Wocher got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 19 minutes into the game, Robby Reich cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Alajos Bergmann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Christian Wocher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Jefferson Miani kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alajos Bergmann. That made the score 3-0 in the 29 minute of play. Kleopas Vogler made in the 33rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Gallus Mattmann immediately put the ball in play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Jefferson Miani managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Thun's supporters rose to their feet, but Jefferson Miani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alajos Bergmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in BSC Young Boys's zone, Nathan Trudeau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alajos Bergmann came out of the goal and Nathan Trudeau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Wocher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Alajos Bergmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Alajos Bergmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jefferson Miani, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After having played for 56 minutes, Jefferson Miani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Thun's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jefferson Miani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Eddy Aregger came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the BSC Young Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddy Aregger couldn't finish the play. Ludwig Oberholzer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karsten Gerner having to make a save. Alajos Bergmann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Robby Reich went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. If Jefferson Miani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oskar Beljean hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Christian Wocher took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alajos Bergmann. Alajos Bergmann dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After 89 played minutes BSC Young Boys got a freekick which was hit by Oskar Beljean. Alajos Bergmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Wocher, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Alajos Bergmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson Miani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that FC Thun were the better team. FC Thun's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
