In the 3rd minute Theodor Möckli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebius Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusebius Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lothaire Wanner in the 4th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Jacky Schwartz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Theodor Möckli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebius Mazza having to interfere. After having played for 13 minutes, Emmanuel Ziegler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lausanne Sport Engelberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emmanuel Ziegler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Theodor Möckli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Eusebius Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lothaire Wanner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebius Mazza having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Quint Wagner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Lausanne Sport Engelberg defense, Lothaire Wanner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eusebius Mazza. The Lausanne Sport Engelberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eusebius Mazza should have stopped the shot. Keamon Sanschagrin hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lothaire Wanner in the 39th minute of play forced Lausanne Sport Engelberg's goalkeeper Eusebius Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Denis Müller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lausanne Sport Engelberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Denis Müller was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lion Imboden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eusebius Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lothaire Wanner in the 43rd minute of play. The supporters of Nankatsu SC booed when Lausanne Sport Engelberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralf Lang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lothaire Wanner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusebius Mazza having to interfere. After the first half Nankatsu SC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emmanuel Ziegler to strike the kick off in the second half. If Theodor Möckli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theodor Möckli in the 56th minute of play forced Lausanne Sport Engelberg's goalkeeper Eusebius Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Fred Eglin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nankatsu SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lausanne Sport Engelberg the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Nankatsu SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lausanne Sport Engelberg:s goal. If Lothaire Wanner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eusebius Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theodor Möckli in the 66th minute of play. Eusebius Mazza came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Nankatsu SC's Lothaire Wanner. But to his dismay, Lothaire Wanner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Nankatsu SC's Lion Imboden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Müller in the 71st minute of play. Lion Imboden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Müller in the 80th minute of play. Emmanuel Ziegler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Lion Imboden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Lausanne Sport Engelberg booed when Nankatsu SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thommy Decimo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Lausanne Sport Engelberg fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Lausanne Sport Engelberg's Emmanuel Ziegler looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 91st match minute, Nankatsu SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pietro Soltermann to maneuver through the defense. Dave Bircher might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lion Imboden. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dave Bircher ran back to his position shaking his head.
