Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Virgil Suppiger in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Art Helfenstein prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rodolphe Lang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emery Palorini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Art Helfenstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgil Suppiger in the 9th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Virgil Suppiger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Veltheim's Virgil Suppiger got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Salomon Frei fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chlötzlibieger's protests and gave Salomon Frei a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 played minutes, SC Veltheim's Francis Burgermeister shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Art Helfenstein came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Veltheim reached it. If Falk Portmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nathan Favre came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the SC Veltheim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nathan Favre couldn't finish the play. Art Helfenstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathan Favre, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Chlötzlibieger's zone, Nathan Favre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Art Helfenstein came out of the goal and Nathan Favre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to SC Veltheim getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Lucas Gerster hit a great ball. Falk Portmann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodolphe Lang having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Virgil Suppiger in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Art Helfenstein prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Virgil Suppiger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Art Helfenstein was relentless in the 46th minute of the game.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emery Palorini made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Veltheim's Virgil Suppiger slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Art Helfenstein. That made the score 0-1 after 51 minutes of play. Nathan Favre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot by Hans Montechiaro from long distance, 60 minutes into the match, got Art Helfenstein's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Lucas Gerster charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucas Gerster the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st minute, Lucas Gerster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emery Palorini in the 62nd minute of play forced SC Veltheim's goalkeeper Rodolphe Lang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amadeus Beaudry hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Francis Burgermeister was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 72nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Nathan Favre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Veltheim's Virgil Suppiger got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Falk Portmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolphe Lang having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SC Veltheim's zone, Falk Portmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolphe Lang came out of the goal and Falk Portmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Veltheim's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
