Cagnagob's Hannes Steinemann got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patrizius Lampron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tizian Imboden having to interfere. A collision led to Grasshoppers getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Ivan Theiss hit a great ball. When Patrizius Lampron came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Cagnagob fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrizius Lampron couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Cagnagob's Patrizius Lampron got a free kick in the 22nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patrizius Lampron in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tizian Imboden saved Grasshoppers from getting behind. In the 29th minute, Salomon Lengen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 minutes, Chuck Keiser mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grasshoppers and the Cagnagob players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th match minute, Grasshoppers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chuck Keiser to maneuver through the defense. Patrizius Lampron might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tizian Imboden. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patrizius Lampron ran back to his position shaking his head. Patrizius Lampron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Tizian Imboden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grasshoppers's Tizian Imboden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Rhéaume in the 45th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alwin Lowe made a kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game Patrizius Lampron who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grasshoppers's Tizian Imboden was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nicolas Rhéaume struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Tizian Imboden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cagnagob. With a little luck, Grasshoppers's Tizian Imboden got control of the ball when Alex Ciancone tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Patrizius Lampron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cagnagob's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrizius Lampron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patrizius Lampron struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Tizian Imboden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cagnagob. Grasshoppers's Tizian Imboden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrizius Lampron in the 65th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Patrizius Lampron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tizian Imboden was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Patrizius Lampron blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tizian Imboden having to make a save. Tizian Imboden didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patrizius Lampron went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Tizian Imboden stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patrizius Lampron's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Grasshoppers's zone, Patrizius Lampron stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tizian Imboden came out of the goal and Patrizius Lampron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Max Ramseier kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Alex Ciancone kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After 96 minutes of play, Grasshoppers's Chuck Keiser made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jan Netzer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Despite being the better team, Cagnagob failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
