Spectators: 7747 (Terracing: 5812, Seating: 1781, VIP seats: 154) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Virgil Suppiger kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute Virgil Suppiger suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 4 minutes, Gualtiero Weber mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Thuner Löwen and the SC Veltheim players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Thuner Löwen! Francis Burgermeister walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Philip Vogel managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Thuner Löwen's supporters rose to their feet, but Philip Vogel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolphe Lang breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Philip Vogel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Rodolphe Lang made a huge save. After 18 played minutes SC Veltheim got a freekick which was hit by Mac Valletta. The audience thought a goal was coming when Philip Vogel got free with Rodolphe Lang in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nathan Favre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kurt Frankfurter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Kurt Frankfurter didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nathan Favre went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of FC Thuner Löwen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Veltheim:s goal. If Nathan Favre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

SC Veltheim's Rodolphe Lang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Willi in the 52nd minute of play. After 62 minutes of play, SC Veltheim's Nathan Favre made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kurt Frankfurter was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Lucas Gerster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rodolphe Lang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philip Vogel in the 72nd minute of play. After 74 played minutes SC Veltheim got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Gerster. Josias Steffen, 74 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Goran Wunderlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Rodolphe Lang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nathan Favre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. FC Thuner Löwen's Kurt Frankfurter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save FC Thuner Löwen from getting a goal against them.
