After 7 played minutes FC Janisen 7 got a freekick which was hit by Keamon Steurer. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alwin Lowe in the 10th minute of play forced FC Janisen 7's goalkeeper Johnny Zeller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alwin Lowe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnny Zeller read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 20th minute Chuck Keiser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Zeller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flint Müller hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Keamon Steurer might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tizian Imboden. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Keamon Steurer ran back to his position shaking his head. Tizian Imboden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flint Müller in the 32nd minute of the match. Flint Müller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of FC Janisen 7 booed when Grasshoppers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salomon Lengen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tizian Imboden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flint Müller made a kick off. Tizian Imboden stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Flint Müller's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. In the 57th minute, Diego Büchel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tizian Imboden was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Diego Büchel struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Tizian Imboden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Janisen 7. After having played for 63 minutes, Flint Müller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Janisen 7's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flint Müller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Argus Beaudry kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Diego Büchel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tizian Imboden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flint Müller in the 68th minute of play. Flint Müller's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tizian Imboden read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Udo Gloeckner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tizian Imboden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Büchel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FC Janisen 7's Pippin Berger got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 80th minute, Chuck Keiser ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Johnny Zeller was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. FC Janisen 7's Johnny Zeller proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save FC Janisen 7 from getting a goal against them. In the 88th minute, Chuck Keiser got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Johnny Zeller made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Chuck Keiser sent off a good shot on target. Grasshoppers's Alwin Lowe got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
