The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Florentin Locher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Alexandre Scheupach tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Liborius Borghi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liborius Borghi in the 8th minute of play forced Expats United's goalkeeper Kurt Mathieu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee ignored Expats United's protests and gave Christopher Eggimann a yellow card for diving instead. Kurt Mathieu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Expats United's goalkeeper Kurt Mathieu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Rodolfo Schott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Boltigen HC's zone, Florentin Locher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Scheupach came out of the goal and Florentin Locher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Liborius Borghi struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Kurt Mathieu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boltigen HC. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Liborius Borghi to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 65th minute, one of Expats United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Expats United. In the 67th minute, Vittore Rotzer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kurt Mathieu was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Liborius Borghi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Mathieu having to interfere. Mathieu Casutt kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Liborius Borghi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ansgar Graziani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
