Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Lyonel Fossati successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 17th match minute, Forel SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kai Striner to maneuver through the defense. Florentin Locher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kurt Mathieu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfred Wider, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christopher Eggimann kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Manfred Wider sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ansgar Graziani in the 29th minute of play forced Forel SC's goalkeeper Lyonel Fossati to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Lyonel Fossati managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Expats United's Florentin Locher fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Expats United's zone, Derek Bögli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kurt Mathieu came out of the goal and Derek Bögli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pius Lepre's late challenge caught a Forel SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pius Lepre helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Expats United getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Pius Lepre hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Manfred Wider hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Leopoldo Muench had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leopoldo Muench sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Kurt Mathieu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kai Striner showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 54 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Expats United's Quint Finkel got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Forel SC's Lyonel Fossati played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ansgar Graziani in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quint Finkel in the 71st minute of play forced Forel SC's goalkeeper Lyonel Fossati to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led Expats United's Matthäus Melliger to fire away a dangerous shot which Lyonel Fossati despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With his leg Kurt Mathieu managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Forel SC's Manfred Wider fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 84 minutes into the game, Manfred Wider cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Kurt Mathieu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th minute, Forel SC's Leopoldo Muench dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. A collision led to Expats United getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Quint Finkel hit a great ball. In the 96th minute Forel SC were awarded a corner. Simon Di Luca went to the cornerflag to take it. Forel SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
