Kurt Mathieu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sylvain Breitenstein in the 5th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florentin Locher in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Favian Duplanty prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Union FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Matthäus Melliger was slow to take the kick. During this time Expats United's players had a chance to rest. A hard shot 18 in the game by Florentin Locher from a close distance when the talented Favian Duplanty managed to make a qualified save. Union FC's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nikita Burkhart during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Union FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Nikita Burkhart hit a great ball. Sylvain Breitenstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Mathieu having to interfere. Nikita Burkhart's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kurt Mathieu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Sylvain Breitenstein recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute, LLoyd Weingartner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Favian Duplanty made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Florentin Locher sent off a good shot on target. Florentin Locher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ansgar Graziani made a kick off. Florentin Locher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Favian Duplanty having to interfere. Expats United's Florentin Locher got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Union FC were furious when Ulrico Gilli was red carded, 59 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 60 played minutes Union FC got a freekick which was hit by Ulrico Gilli. Ansgar Graziani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Favian Duplanty having to interfere. LLoyd Weingartner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Mathieu having to interfere. Favian Duplanty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florentin Locher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Union FC booed when Expats United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertrand Goetschi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentin Locher in the 77th minute of play forced Union FC's goalkeeper Favian Duplanty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Union FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Nikita Burkhart hit a great ball. Florentin Locher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentin Locher in the 82nd minute of play forced Union FC's goalkeeper Favian Duplanty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes into the game, Sylvain Breitenstein was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Union FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Expats United the free kick. The supporters of Expats United booed when Union FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sylvain Breitenstein didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sylvain Breitenstein got free with Kurt Mathieu in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Favian Duplanty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ansgar Graziani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Favian Duplanty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christopher Eggimann in the 93rd minute of the match. Florentin Locher blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Favian Duplanty having to make a save.
